The movie explores the concept of simulated reality by an AI program. AI has created a world so perfect for humans that most humans don’t even question the life created for them and exist peacefully. The world is called The Matrix.
The Matrix is a metaphysical world whereas the Machine world is the actual physical world where humans are harvested by Machines for power. The Matrix creates a world where everything that they experience, taste, feel is just code which simulates that feeling by an electric impulse.
The movie goes on to show a couple of rouge humans that become aware of the Matrix and try to break out of it. It follows the path of Neo, aka ‘The One’, who is prophesied to free humanity and end the war between humans and AI.
